Quick Tip

Mad Blanks can be used as a general purpose forms component to collect and store form data. Score Scripts can be used to "converse" with the user based on what s/he submitted. Crunch some numbers like a calculator or just say, "thank you for your submission."

This article reveals the new features, bug fixes, and changes introduced in Mad Blanks 1.4.0 Beta 5 (download it here). I had originally intended for this to be an RC (release candidate), but I added significant new Score Script functionality so I thought it best to keep it as a beta for now. However, my plan at this point is to place a freeze on developing any more major functionality until 1.4.0 final is released. Please help me out by sharing any bugs/issues you find, no matter how small, in the bug reports section of the forum or by using the contact form if you would prefer. I rely on you, with your varied Joomla installations, to find problems I can't with my server setup or that I overlook.

Of particular note with this release is the availability of a new module. The Mad Blanks Statistic Score Script module can be used on the front end to display the output of a Score Script that uses aggregate tags and/or expression groups to show statistical information.

Please note that after upgrading from an older release of Mad Blanks, it will be necessary to edit and re-save any menu items you have that link to Mad Blanks.

Please share your comments and your suggestions for improvements on the forum.
